Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering and Technology was founded in the year 1995. It is located in a 32.04 acre sprawling campus on NH-18 at Nandyal, A.P. It is the dedicated commitment and efforts of our beloved Chairman, the man with vision “Vidyarathna” Dr. M. SanthiRamudu, who started the institution with a motto “EDUCATION FOR PEACE”.

So far in the last 25 years of existence, 21 Batches of Students were Graduated with an average results of 85 to 90% and secured 11 Gold Medals in total from the University. The institute is carrying out of good number of minor and major research projects funded by AICTE and UGC. The institute conducts number of Faculty development programs, conferences, in-house training programs and student related technical activities and competitions.

             RGMCET has been conferred Autonomous status by UGC and incorporated number of changes in curriculum and regulations and introduced more practical oriented syllabus and number of value added courses for the benefit of the students. Each Department has ten laboratories and also departmental computer centers for faculty, staff and students. The institute is offering 09 UG Engineering and Technology (Bachelor of Technology) courses and 07 PG Engineering courses (Master of Technology) apart from Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) of JNT University, Anantapur. The intake of institute per annum is 1344.

All the UG Courses in the Institute are accredited five times by NBA. Institute is accredited by NAAC with A+. The institute has permanent affiliation from JNTU, Anantapur. The institute has been accredited by TCS for placements and training. The institute has DISR (Ministry of Science and Technology) recognition for the exemption of Excise Duty for the Research equipment procured. Selected for World Bank assisted TEQIP-I for quality improvement. The institute ISO 9001:2008 certified. The Jawahar Knowledge Center of the institute has been awarded as the best JKC center twice by Government of Andhra Pradesh for highest Campus Placements. The JKC center has also been recognized as best center for its outstanding performance.

The institute has very good hostels for boys and girls and all the hostel rooms are equipped campus-wide networking and Wi-Fi connectivity with 100Mbps leased line. RGMCET encourages students to take part both in curricular and extra-curricular activities. RGMCET organizes number of sports and games and also EXPOS to inculcate habit of entrepreneurship culture among students.

The institute offers very good number of incentives to faculty and students. Noteworthy among them is reimbursement of complete tuition fee and hostel fee for those students who score 90% and above marks in an academic year. The institute offers 20 scholarships every year for the poorest of poor students from poor student’s fund.

As a social responsibility the institute organizes number of job oriented skilled programs for organized and unorganized sector persons and for local youth which improves their economic conditions. The institute has two NSS units through which it organizes number of special camps and health camps to create health awareness among village residents.

Every engineering student needs to be prepared for industry, higher education and research. Our Institute considers this as prime goal and involves the Alumni, who frequently visits the campus, talks to the students and faculty, prepares them to the quality of industry. Alumni who are working at the industry take this as pleasure; keeps offering their best of the services in preparing the students towards industry, motivating & guiding them for the higher studies and research.

History of RGMCET:

Rajeev Gandhi Memorial College of Engineering and Technology was started in the year 1995, by M/s Parameswara Educational Academy, a registered Educational Society, Nandyal.  It is approved by AICTE, New Delhi with an initial intake of 220 and permitted by the State Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. It started functioning in a temporary location i.e. in the campus of The Nandyal Public School.

The foundation stone for the new infrastructure on N.H.-18 was laid on 09.03.1996 by Late Sri P.V.Narasimha Rao, the former Prime Minister of India and Sri N.Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

It was subsequently shifted to the new campus in November’ 1996. It is the first private Engineering College affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. The institute was started with a motto of  EDUCATION FOR PEACE .

The institute has accredited by NAAC of UGC with A+ Grade, 3.53 out of 4 CGPA. All the eligible UG programs are accredit by  NBA of AICTE.
